Training
Channel Research recognises the value of investing in our professional environment to ensure that everyone involved in our work continuously refers to, and applies best practices when conducting assessments.
We have therefore made it a core objectives to nurture and develop expertise in the professional humanitarian and conflict-prevention.
This is now expanding to include those working in corporate-community relations settings. We aim to improve the exchange of lessons learned from evaluations and the quality of global evaluation knowledge through workshops and training.
Knowledge for the Human Sphere
Channel Research cooperates with other institutions such as Active Learning Network for Accountability and Performance in Humanitarian Action (ALNAP) and Southern Cross University in Australia to develop a distance learning training module. Each year, training courses are offered to public and private companies on targeted themes. This concerns those who mandate the studies, evaluation managers as well as the commissioned consultants.
Previous participants include staff from UNHCR, OCHA, WFP, FAO, IOM, European Commision (DG ECHO), SIDA, Norad, DanChurchAid, RCT, NRC, ICRC, Oxfam, Save the Children, RedR, Red Cross, DARA as well as practitioners, core evaluators, independent consultants and government officials.
Our training serve as a valued forum for reflection, experience and knowledge sharing.
We offer training in:
- Evaluation of Humanitarian Action (in collaboration with ALNAP)
- Improved Performance in addressing conflict
- Social Risk Management and Performance Strategy
- Workshops on Emergency Management for UNHCR
We provide training in the four main working languages of Channel: English, French, Spanish and German
