Emery Brusset – Group Director
Emery Brusset has a background in sociology and international relations from Yale University and the London School of Economics. Since working for the UN humanitarian programme, he has gained over ten years’ experience in evaluation consultancy, specialising in the design of methodologies for politically unstable environments. More recently Mr Brusset has been working with private sector clients, conducting social impact assessments combined with participatory consultations.
A French national, Mr Brusset lives in Belgium, and is trilingual in French, English and Spanish.
Ralf Otto – Senior Project Manager With Specific Responsibility for Clients Based in Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, and the Ec
Ralf Otto is the main contact person for Channel and based in the Brussels‘office. Mr. Otto holds degrees in law and humanitarian aid from Germany, and has studied and worked in France, the USA and South Africa. He has gained experience in evaluations, research and private sector development programmes in Africa, Eastern and South Eastern Europe. Before joining Channel in 2004, Mr Otto occupied positions of responsibility in the management of evaluation studies and large projects in the field of international development.
A German national, Mr Otto lives in Brussels, and speaks English, French and Spanish.
Cécile Collin – Project Manager With Specific Responsibility for Clients Based in France, Belgium and the UN
Ms Collin holds a degree from the High School of Commerce in Reims, France, with a specialisation in Marketing and Communication. Before joining Channel Research in 2005, Cécile worked in financial management and marketing in the private sector. She undertook training in marketing and communication in Turkey, USA, Italy and China. She has also worked as a volunteer in development projects in 2002 in Lebanon and in 2004 in Madagascar.
Ms Collin is a French national, based in Brussels, and speaks English, Spanish, German and Italian.
Annina Mattsson – Project Manager With Specific Responsibility for Nordic Countries
Ms Mattsson has a BA in European Studies and Spanish from King’s College London and an MA in Violence, Conflict and Development from SOAS (School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London). She is a professional project management specialist, with a focus on deployment of teams in difficult conditions in very short timeframes. She has recently gained experience of active conflicts in the course of her work in Palestine.
Ms Mattsson is a Finnish national, based in Brussels, and speaks Swedish, Finnish, English, French and Spanish.
Delphine Thizy – Project Manager With Specific Responsibility for Corporate Clients and Clients Based in Us, Uk, Ireland and Australia.
Ms Thizy holds a BA in International Relations from the Institute of Political Sciences in Lyon (IEP), and a Masters degree in Project Management for Economic Development from the University of Pierre-Mendes-France in Grenoble. Ms Thizy completed her education in Lyon with a Diploma in Arabic Studies, and in Cairo with a Diploma on Refugees and Forced Migration. She has worked on various projects funded by the European Commission and the World Bank in Afghanistan, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and the Palestinian Territories. She is an experienced manager of humanitarian projects and coordination, especially with regard to evaluating the impact of projects in post-conflict and fragile states. She also has expertise in microfinance, and in the creation of income-generating activities in challenging environments.
Ms Thizy is a French national, based in Brussels. She speaks English, Spanish, and Portuguese, and has a basic understanding of Arabic.
Tom Kenis – Operational Manager and responsible for Channel Research Tanganyika, Burundi
Mr. Kenis holds an MA in Middle East Studies from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven and an MA in International Affairs from Université Catholique Louvain-la-Neuve. Mr. Kenis has studied Arabic in Tunisia, and Egypt, and worked in Belgium, Egypt, Germany, and the Palestinian Territories. His experience includes private sector assignments as well as development work.
Mr. Kenis is a Belgian national, based in Brussels, and speaks English, Dutch, French, German, and Arabic.
Maria Bak – Knowledge Manager With Specific Responsibility for Channel Research’s Trainings and Communication
Ms Bak has a BA in International Development Studies from University of Roskilde, Denmark and an MA in Political Communication and Management from Copenhagen Business School with a specialization in cross sector co-operation and NGO-business partnerships. Before joining Channel Research in 2008 Maria worked with DanChurchAid from where she has gained experience working with humanitarian mine action programmes, development projects and global funding.
Ms Bak is a Danish national, based in Brussels and speaks English, French, and has knowledge of Spanish and German.
Augustin Ngendakuriyo – Project Manger With Specific Responsibility for Clients Based in Africa, Channel Research Tanganyika, Bujumbura
Augustin Ngendakuriyo holds a Masters degree in Economic Sciences from the National University of Benin. He began working with Channel in 2002 as an independent consultant in Burundi, Benin and Congo. His areas of expertise are audit and financial management, as well as institutional development. In this capacity Augustin Ngendakuriyo has participated in several evaluations related to community rehabilitation, civil service and justice reform, and public health management.
A Burundese National, Mr Ngendakuriyo is based in the office of Channel Research Tanganyka in Bujumbura, Burundi. He speaks French, English and Swahili.
Tatien Barumbanze – Office Assistant, Channel Research Tanganyika, Bujumbura
Mr. Barumbanze has a degree in Contemporary Literature and has studied for one year in the Psychology and Educational Science faculty at the National University of Burundi. Having worked as an intern for a year, Mr. Barumbanze became office assistant with Channel Research Tanganyika.
In addition to participating in some evaluations as support staff, he ensures the daily follow-up of all administrative tasks at the Bujumbura office.
