Evaluation of Humanitarian Action (EHA), Bangkok
November 2012, basic-to-intermediate level.
This 3-day course is a basic-to-intermediate level course and will use the OECD-DAC evaluation criteria. It has the following aims:
- To make evaluations of humanitarian assistance more effective in contributing to improved performance.
- To improve the quality of evaluation processes.
The learning objectives of the course are to achieve:
(i) Greater clarity of the purpose and objectives of EHA, and of the principal challenges of doing EHA.
(ii) Better understanding of evaluation criteria and of the most relevant frameworks against which humanitarian assistance should be evaluated.
(iii) A practical approach to planning, designing, implementing and following through on evaluations of humanitarian assistance.
Based on Channel Research’s experience of running training programmes on evaluation, this course will be open to evaluators, those who commission evaluations, programme managers and users of evaluations. The course is based on presenting both tools and methods of analysis. It presents an opportunity for learning and exchange between participants from different backgrounds and who play different roles related to evaluations.
Language: All teaching and course materials are in English. It is essential that participants are fully conversant in English.
Fee: The full price for the session includes the training itself, materials, refreshments and
accommodation and all meals, from Sunday evening until Wednesday early evening. An early booking Price is available for those participants who pay in advance. All participants are responsible for any associated visa expenses, their own travel to and from Bangkok, airport transfer from Suvarnabhumi Airport to the training venue, health/accident insurance and other personal expenses.
Dates: The training will take place in Bangkok in December 2012.
