Training on Planning and Evaluation of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Programmes, Bangkok
3-7 December 2012, basic-intermediate level.
This course is a basic-to-intermediate level course and has the overall aim of assisting participants in the design and to be able to commission, manage, carry out and use evaluations in disasters and DRR. This 5-day training course will use the OECD-DAC evaluation criteria.
The main objectives of the course are to:
1. Provide basic knowledge on disaster and DRR
2. Enhance the knowledge in designing general M&E framework for programs & projects
3. Address and bridge the knowledge gap in applying M&E on specific disasters, DRR and conflicts
4. Share knowledge and experience amongst different agencies and partners in the region who conduct M&E in DRR and unstable environments
The course is based on presenting both tools and methods of analysis. It is facilitated by the evaluation experts Ralf Otto and Annina Mattsson, Channel Research and Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC), specialised in Disaster Risk Reduction.
The course follows other trainings given every year by Channel Research in Belgium and is highly recommended for participants from aid agencies, donor governments, UN agencies, INGOs, NGOs, consultancies and academia. The participants who will benefit the most from this course are senior and middle level managers, monitoring & evaluation officers and policy makers who implement and/or monitor programs in DRR and other unstable environments.
The course will be held in Bangkok.
